Meet Hypermnestra, Oenone, Ariadne, Laodamia and Phillis. You've heard of them right? No! What about Paris, Theseus, Hercules, Jason?

Tired of being just a footnote in the swaggering epic tales of these “Great" heroes, the Heroines are loud, proud and ready to take centre stage. Princesses, Queens, Nymphs, Politicians and Pioneers, they are grabbing the spotlight to show you that their stories, women's stories, are worth more than the two lines they were originally assigned.

Based on a series of fictional letters called The Heroides written by the Roman poet Ovid, now transformed by 15 leading female and non-binary British playwrights into modern monologues called 15 Heroines.

This show portrays five of these stories, delving into the death of a beloved brother, abandoned by a lover, finding hope for a better future in an arranged marriage, the worry of losing your soulmate to war and trying to hold your country together at a time of political turmoil.

Perfect for fans of Madeline Miller, Natalie Haynes and Pat Barker.
