The Heroines
1 stage | 5 stories | 8 epic nights of theatre
Five feisty Ancient Greek women. Tired of sitting on the sidelines. Kicking down doors to be heard. Ready to meet them?
Meet Hypermestra, Oenone, Ariadne, Laodamia and Phillis. You've heard of them right? No! What about Paris, Theseus, Hercules, Jason?
Tired of being just a footnote in the swaggering epic tales of these “Great" heroes, the Heroines are loud, proud and ready to take centre stage. Princesses, Queens, Nymphs, Politicians and Pioneers, they are grabbing the spotlight to show you that their stories, women's stories, are worth more than the two lines they were originally assigned.
This show portrays five stories, delving into the death of a beloved brother, abandoned by a lover, finding hope for a better future in an arranged marriage, the worry of losing your soulmate to war and trying to hold your country together at a time of political turmoil.
Perfect for fans of Madeline Miller, Natalie Haynes and Pat Barker.
